İzmir, a port city where deep commercial relations existed throughout its history, has also hosted the first fairs in the history of Türkiye. Held during the İzmir Economics Congress, "Numune Meşheri", meaning "Sample Exhibition", was later renamed "9 Eylül Meşheri" (9 September Local Exhibition) and these exhibitions were accepted as the 1st İzmir International Fair. "Kültürpark" had hosted İzmir International Fair, first international fair in Türkiye; and in order to respond to the increasing exhibition potential, to create a platform worthy of world fairs and to maximize sectoral interaction, fuarizmir was established on March 25, 2015.
Witnessing 8,500 years of human history, İzmir is established on the shore of the bay and ranks third among 81 provinces in terms of both population size and socioeconomic development throughout Türkiye. Izmir International Port is one of the most important ports in the country, serving 70,000 businessperson, 6,000 industrialists and nearly 100,000 traders.
