Under the hosting of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, three separate fairs held this week at Fuar İzmir once again demonstrated the city’s strength in the exhibition industry by bringing together different sectors under one roof. The fairs, organized in the fields of optics, furniture, and machinery-industry, not only increased inter-sector interaction but also paved the way for new collaborations.
Optic World İzmir – the 3rd Optical, Eyewear, Ophthalmology and Technologies Fair organized by İZFAŞ, İZFURNEX – İzmir Furniture Fair organized by EFR Fuarcılık, and IMATECH – the 4th Industrial Production and Technologies Fair organized by İzgi Fuarcılık hosted their visitors last week in three separate halls of Fuar İzmir. The simultaneous organization of the three fairs created a strong momentum, bringing together hundreds of brands and thousands of professional visitors.
Met with sector representatives
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, who inaugurated Optic World İzmir, toured the exhibition area after the opening ceremony and met with participants and sector representatives. Visiting the stands and examining the products on-site, Tugay also tried on glasses. As part of his program, he visited İZFURNEX İzmir Furniture Fair held in Hall B and exchanged views with sector representatives. He also toured the IMATECH Fair held in Hall A and received information about the exhibited machinery and technologies.
Mayor Tugay stated that the fairs create a basis for new collaborations and strong partnerships, emphasizing that they will continue to support such organizations that enhance İzmir’s production and trade potential. Sector representatives highlighted the importance of direct communication established at the fair in accurately understanding the needs of the industry, expressed their satisfaction with the support given to the fair, and thanked Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay.
Contribution to the city’s economy
Optic World İzmir Fair brought together 46 participants from 8 provinces between March 27–29, becoming one of the key meeting points of the sector. Showcasing a wide range of products from eyeglass frames to optical lens technologies, from contact lenses to ophthalmological equipment, the fair provided professionals with the opportunity to establish new business connections.
İZFURNEX was held between March 25–29, 2026, with the participation of 127 companies and brands from 12 provinces, highlighting design, aesthetics, and brand-oriented production in the furniture sector. IMATECH Fair, held between March 26–29, hosted 221 brands. Industrial robots, metal processing machines, industrial automation systems, and laser welding technologies were among the prominent product groups at the fair.
The three fairs organized under the hosting of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality once again demonstrated the national and international importance of Fuar İzmir, contributing both to their respective sectors and to the city’s economy.
